Groenendael O-litter
Diary
20.07.2014 | Time flies.....
The puppies still develops very well, and they are
convinced, that the whole world is made for them ;-) Oliver and Ottira are still looking for their own families. Oliver is a great guy with a wellbalanced character, and he is very cooperative (he already does a "high five"). He is very loving and sweet. He has an amazing body - short and wellshaped. Ottira is a nice and feminine female with a wellbalanced character. She is very willing to cooperate. She is loving and affectionate. She is slightly long in body, which is absolutely not bad for a female. New pictures here |
15.07.2014 | The puppies are really
keeping us busy now ;-) They play and explore the world. The meet
everything with confidence - visitors, new places, new things - they
greet everything with an open mind. New pictures here |
10.07.2014 | Results from the
laboratory has arrived, and everything is normal. Which excludes herpes being the cause for the death of some of the puppies. So the health of the remaining 3 puppies is no different from other puppies, where birth etc. has been normal. New pictures here Names are chosen: |

23.06.2014 | Puppies are eating well.
They were not so happy about getting dewormed ;-) New pictures here |
21.06.2014 | We have now been in
contact with lots of veterinarians and specialists (including Birgitte
Schjøth, Canicold), and it turns out, that it most likely was NOT herpes, that caused the death of our puppies shortly after the birth.
The cause is more likely the fact, that they were born 6 days too early,
and the further burden from the caesarian.
We are still waiting for answers of the last tests from the laboratory. As soon as they arrive, the results will be published here in the diary. |

07.06.2014 | Puppies and Regina are
doing well. They eat well and look good. Puppies are behaving just like
they should, and Regina is taking good care of them.
We are trying to find out, if there is a way to test the puppies, so we know for sure, if they are infected with herpes, or if there has been other reasons causing the death of the other puppies. |
03.06.2014 | During the last week we
have lost 3 of the babies :-( Our veterinarian and other experienced breeders are guessing, it might be an infection with herpes. We are hoping, that the last 3 puppies will survive. They look nice, and Regina is taking very good care of them. |
It
was a dramatic birth 6 days too early. The first puppy was born tuesday
at 22:10. Then the birth stopped. The vet came and injected something to
stimulate the contractions, and then Regina gave birth to 2 more puppies
during the night, but the last one was dead by birth. Then the birth
stopped again, and wednesday morning we decided to get the last puppies
out by c-section. Puppies looked fine, and there was no reason to worry. But 2 of the puppies died very suddenly without warning on friday. Further 1 puppy had become weak. We succeeded in keeping her alive until sunday, and at times it seemed quite allright. But she gave up sunday at noon. The remaining 3 puppies (1 male and 2 females) look good, are eating well and behave like puppies should at that age. This experience has been very hard for us, and that´s why the story is published a week after the birth. |
